Costa Rica

I spent a few days whilst in Costa Rica in a small village called Dos Brassos del Rio Tigre. This is located next to Corcovado National Park (photo 1) and is surrounded by the same forest. Whilst having dinner one evening we were joined by a friendly little leaf frog about an inch (2.5cm) long (photo 2).

Much of the appeal in Costa Rica is its accessible nature sites. Monteverde cloud forest is one of the most well known of Costa Rica's natural sites and it is well developed for viewing the cloud forest up close (photos 1 & 2) through a series of bridges, rappelling lines and towers. Whilst wandering along the paths I came across an interesting beetle (photo 3) and a nice big tarantula (photo 4).

Costa Rica is a good place to see lots of interesting insects, including the butterflies. Amongst the butterflies I saw were the blue morpho, which I didn't manage to photograph, the glass wing (photo 1) and others.
